2026 CARNIVAL DATES

Following the outstanding success of 2025’s inaugural event, the Cairns Super Carnival returns in 2026, once again combining North Queensland’s most exciting racing celebrations into one spectacular 8-day festival of racing, fashion, glamour, entertainment, and fine food. The 2026 carnival embraces the theme “Carnival of Colour” – a vibrant celebration inspired by the spectacular palette of Far North Queensland.

This vibrant celebration will run from Friday, 21st August to Saturday, 29th August 2026, at Ladbrokes Cannon Park, the home of the Cairns Jockey Club.

This highly anticipated return will again deliver three blockbuster race days, including the nationally broadcast 8-race program on Great Northern Brewing Co. Cairns Amateurs Day, Saturday 22nd August, featuring the Cairns Amateur Cup and Cairns Amateur Sprint.

The excitement continues with an 8-race program on Ladbrokes Newmarket Day, Friday 28th August, bringing colour, style and thrilling racing to the forefront.

The carnival culminates with the prestigious Red Beret Hotel Cairns Cup Day on Saturday 29th August, showcasing another exhilarating 8-race program.

Beyond the track, the Super Carnival once again presents a standout calendar of premium social events, including the Carnival Launch, Cairns Cup Live Barrier Draw, Cairns Central Fashions on the Field, and the Ladbrokes Sportsmans Luncheon & Calcutta, reinforcing its place as one of the must-attend events on the Australian spring racing calendar.
