The Cairns Jockey Club and Cannon Park is the perfect location to host your next event. Our 6 different venues can host a small group from 50 to 1000.

A small romantic wedding or a corporate event for 500, we can cater for all.

Cannon Park is also a community entertainment venue and each year plays host to festivals, conferences, car shows, animal re-homing and community activities.

MEET OUR VENUES

Presidents lounge

This newly constructed venue is beautiful for weddings and larger events. It includes ample toilet facilities, a bar and audio visual requirements. The function area is surrounded by lawns and the large fig trees.

250 seated or 350 cocktail style

REEF LOUNGE

Located in our newly renovated Reef Lounge. Enjoy your function under air-conditioned comfort, with modern fittings and bar facilities, large screen TV’s throughout plus floor to ceiling windows looking over to the Mounting Yard and race track.

Winning Post Bar

Enjoy the panoramic views of the racecourse in this modern air conditioned bar. If you’re looking to hold a party then this is the place to be. This room is air-conditioned inside and includes a balcony outside that overlooks the race course. It includes toilet and bar facilities.

150 seated or 200 cocktail style

Tropical Veranda

Located upstairs, this venue has an air of elegance. Fantastic for cocktail parties! The Tropical Veranda looks over the race course and is stunning at night. The venue has toilet and bar facilities.

80 seated or 100 cocktail style

Silks Pavilion

Soak up the atmosphere of an amazing event in this large multi-use facility functions area. This area is part air-conditioned, located on ground level and has its own bar and toilet facilities.

Members Bar

Located upstairs, this air conditioned venue is set out in a U shape with plenty of room for a sit down meal and large mingling area near the bar. This venue also features a large outdoor veranda covered with a shade cloth that overlooks the track, toilets, a permanent greenery photo wall and bar facilities.

Garden Area

Located under three big fig trees and surrounded by gardens, this venue is fantastic and cool for an outdoor event.

Frequently Asked questions

Our Function Prices require a set Bar Tab amount dependent on the number of people attending your event. If you do not require alcoholic beverages, please contact us to arrange quotes. If you do not require a bar tab you will be required to pay a bar set up fee of $500 to cover staff and set-up costs.

What happens with cleaning? Is that our responsibility or is covered?

Cleaning is included in the hire cost. Excessive cleaning costs will be charged additional.

What time do functions need to end and when can they start?

We are licensed till 12.00am, so the venue must be vacated by midnight. 8 hrs is included in hire, if you need to start early the cost is $60phr (cover staff costs)

Are the bar tab prices the minimums or the amount we can only spend on the night on that amount of people?

The Bar Tabs are a minimum spend which needs to be paid prior to the event.

Many prefer to continue the bar tab after this limit, we just need credit card details and authorization from the card holder on the night.

You also have the choice of turning the bar back to a cash bar, so once the bar tab is finished, people can then purchase their own drinks.

Can we do our own catering?

No. Catering is exclusive to Coral Coast Catering https://www.coralcoastcatering.com.au/

Can we hire tables & chairs through the CJC?

Yes, please contact the CJC for a current price list.

Do we require security?

Yes, security will be supplied at $50 per hour per security guard and 1 security guard per 100 guests.
