Insights into our Cup Broadcast Nationally

Well respected racing radio broadcasting veteran Tony Clements has been with Radio TAB for the past 20 years. Clements now holds the role of Programming Director at the station and is excited to be coming back to Cairns. Radio TAB is heard across a network of stations across Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania & the Northern Territory, via the UBET app & on DAB+ Digital Radio channels in Brisbane & Darwin.

A national radio broadcast on Radio TAB will take place on the Friday morning before the “Cairns Cup Lunch” Tony will chat to jockeys and trainers, not only shining a national spotlight on local talent, but providing some valuable insight to punters across the country.

The Cairns Cup is continuing to grow and attract southern racing talent, the boost in prize money for the 2015 carnival takes the purse on offer over the two days up to $247,000. The Carnival will also play host to Emirates Melbourne Cup Tour, with the trophy taking in the two World Heritage Listed attractions of Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforest along with Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park in recognition of Indigenous Australians’ contribution to Australian racing.
