Bar Supervisor

General Purpose

Plan, direct and oversee all bar operations including managing staff, ensuring product and service standards are met and implementing and maintaining procedures for maximum operating efficiency.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Set up all bars the day before race day
  • Keep bars stocked on race day
  • Direct and manage bar staff
  • Train new bar staff on how to use till system
  • Stocktake after race day
  • Ensure adherence to stock control procedures
  • Monitor cleanliness and hygiene of bar area
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages to meet set standards
  • Monitor & assist in ordering supplies
  • Stay current with relevant legislation regarding service of alcohol and licensing
  • Check stock is correctly rotated and stored to reduce wastage
  • Delegate duties and tasks to staff to meet objectives and maximise resources

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the management of a bar or beverage service operation
  • Complete working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Knowledge of business management principles and practices
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol
