Conveniently situated close to the heart of Cairns, Cannon Park offers Australia’s Hottest Racing.

At present the Club races 12 times a year and with the annual feature race day the Cairns Cup held in August. The other major event held at Cannon Park is the two race days of the Far North Queensland Amateur Turf Club or more commonly known as the Cairns Amateurs. Traditionally held on the second Saturday in September each year in 2009 has been moved to the first weekend in September, this is the Melbourne Cup Carnival of the north. The Cairns Greyhound Racing Club also occupies the site with approximately 40 race meetings a year.
